With a unit size, type, and location in mind, do a Google search for storage facilities in the zip code you desire to store. Check for availability, pricing, security and access hours that meet your expectations and then call.

Ask to speak with the property manager and ask questions about the rental process, availibility and specials being offered. If the responses leave you with a good first impression, schedule an appointment to tour the property. Evaluate the office, the employee(s) and the unit itself. All three should be inviting and clean! When the tour ends you should feel at ease and confident that this would be a safe and secure place to store your belongings.  If not, move on to the next one.
